Re: Is this a normal dump?

Those are original disks: they are from a Sierra "Value pack" box and there are 23 * 5.25" floppies in the lot. I can trace their origin as I am the sole owner (since 1989) so I know they are untampered factory ones (maybe as you said they were not made with a duplicator). All the 23 ...

Re: Is this a normal dump?

Those are original Sierra games disks that I was the sole owner (got them new in the late 80's) and was using them with my Tandy 1000 at the time. Could it be the drive that I'm dumping them with the problem?

Re: Is this a normal dump?

Haha right, sorry. I kept the defaults. I already tried 40 tracks instead of 80 but the result was worse. Here is a raw dump of the disk 1 if you can help me.

Is this a normal dump?

I'm dumping my old 5.25" Sierra games from the 80's. They are 360K disks but when I dump them I get a 720K image with this kind of result:

Did I set a setting wrong? The disks are labeled MS-DOS.

5.25" drive starts to spin at odd times... Normal?

I have a Panasonic JU-475-2 BGM 5.25" floppy drive and the drive starts to spin when I insert a floppy (bofore I pull the latch down) and when I start to remove the floppy (after I open the latch). Is that a normal behavior? Is it because of my jumper settings ? Check the video of what my drive...

Must have floppy drives

What are your best drive that you use with KryoFlux? I mean by that those drives that give you better results (in one area or another) than your other drives? It can be 3.5" or 5.25" drives. I'll start: for me it's the 3.5" drive Sony MPF520-D (circa 1996) which can read sectors that ...

Re: Don't forget the terminator

Yeah, on my 1988 5.25" drive (Panasonic JU-475-2 BGM), the jumpers documentation I found online was showing a terminator jumper but there is none on the PCB at the specified location, so I guess it's on a drive by drive (or even drive revision) basis.

Re: Panasonic JU-475-2 5.25" drive jumpers settings

Well the out of the box happened 30+ years ago so I don't know if the jumpers are at factory settings...
