Re: Flippy mod issue

So this is strange. The drive seems to behave inconsistently... sometimes the image of the back side is good and sometimes it isn't. What I see physically is that sometimes the head goes back far enough the read back side's track 0 and sometimes it doesn't. For example, here's the partial output two...

Re: Flippy mod issue

I rechecked my board and it turns out that TP10 was not the connector that I thought it was. I have connected it properly, and now using the Windows software, I am able to image a flippy.

So, when's the Mac version going to be ready? :-)

Re: Flippy mod issue

I am using a Mac so I tried the latest with Parallels. Seems like the same problem (although now I get buffering errors as well). I noticed the stepping is a lot faster with the Windows version. C:\Kryoflux\dtc\tmp>..\dtc -fdisk.xfd -g2 -y -i3a -b-8 -l8 -t10 KryoFlux DiskTool Console, v2.00 beta 6, ...

Re: Flippy mod issue

Thanks for the response. The second side imaged but appears to be corrupted. Here's some output: $ dtc -fdisk.xfd -g2 -y -i3a -b-8 -l8 -t10 KryoFlux DiskTool Console, v1.00 beta 10r5, uiv.1, Apr 25 2011 (c) 2009-2011 KryoFlux Products & Services Ltd. Flippy mod issue

I've modified a Panasonic JU-475-4C30 drive to image flippy disks according to the youtube video instructions. However, when I try to image both sides of an Atari 8-bit flippy disk, only the first side shows data and the other simply reads "unformatted". The command I'm using is: dtc -fdisk.xfd -g2 ...

Yes, re-installing the previous release gets things working again.

Re: Calling all Mac users!

I have tried the new build and it isn't working properly.

My previously working Teac FD-55GFR now reports a "Control command rejected by the device" when I do a dtc -c2.

This is on a 2.8Ghz Intel Core I7 iMac with 12GB of RAM running Mac OS X 10.6.6 in 32-bit mode.

Re: IPF and Openness

It seems to me that the problem you are facing is identical to the MAME team -- people could potentially take your code and (along with IPF files and an emulator) sell them a bundle so people can play retro games. Being able to advertise that the games are the "original, untainted, uncracked, etc." ...
