Re: 3D printed Dual Drive Box

So does it actually power the kryo? Because from the manul it shouldn't Tbh, i was looking more into the schematic than the manual, and the schematic suggests that the board can be powered from USB and (PWR_JACK) or (PWR_FDD1 / PWR_FDD2 <-- molex and berg connectors) depending on position of jumper...

Re: 3D printed Dual Drive Box

Hmm, from the manual it looks to me as if the proper wqy to power the board would be the molex in the middle of the board. And as I understood, no need for extra power UNLESS you want to power a drive via the board and that is not recommended. Well, the molex is directly connected to the smaller "b...

Re: 3D printed Dual Drive Box

Both cases are very nice. And great detailed instructions o the smaller case. What I don't understand about the small box is that you even connect the KryoFlux' "Floppy disk drive connector" (next to the usb connector) to the power. What is the purpose of this? Isn't that potentially harmful? The f...

Re: 3D printed Dual Drive Box

So I finally completed the 3.5" only version. I decided to make the power supply similar to previous version with the difference that the 12V supply is external. This way it can be used with floppy drives that need 12V.

Re: 3D printed Dual Drive Box

So, here is what i have for the 3.5" only version: https://a360.co/2xAYX0h But i'm not sure if the KryoFlux board can, or is meant to provide power to the Floppy Drive from the USB or the barrel jack. I think it may be possible if the drive is 5V only (some 3.5" floppy drives need 12V) and does not ...

Re: Little drive alignment helper

Just in case someone prefers tinkering. While aligning modded diskdrives I'm finding DTC to be very cumbersome with the drive control. Seek to track, stop, seek to track, stop, seek to track, stop, every single time... So I wrote a little Arduino (Duemilanove) sketch and a host program to have dire...

Re: 3D printed Dual Drive Box

That's really nice! I can only print small stuff with mine... Thanks, I have made it as big as my printer can print. I was thinking of maybe doing similar design, but only with single 3,5" drive - it would be smaller and without need for the power supply. And if you really want to get printed somet...

3D printed Dual Drive Box

Hi, I just wanted to share my 3D printed enclosure that I created for my floppy drives and Kryoflux.
