Re: Trying to restore Monkey Island 1 big box game ..
Only a 50/50 ISA H20 and Cotton bud cleaning.. Which did help with a couple of disks. but some of the disks are so badly corrupted that no amount of cleaning or intensive flux reading would help. In short I think I did well to recover as much as I did. ..not that any of this effort is much use if 1 ...

Re: Trying to restore Monkey Island 1 big box game ..
Tally so far - I have successfully recovered Disks 2 and 3 of The Secret of Monkey Island I suspect Disk 1 is unrecoverable Monkey Island 2 ..sadly all disks appear damaged beyond recovery System shock ..nine disk set Persistance has allowed me to recover disks 1 through 7 ..and disk 9 using the GUI...

Trying to restore Monkey Island 1 big box game ..
Hi ...I wonder if anyone can help me restore disk 1 of this big box PC game. After many retries with my Kryoflux board ..tweaking disk spin speed and retry attempts I managed to recover the contents of disks 2 and 3. Sadly disk 1 is too far gone flux wise. I'd like to split the case and replace the ...

Re: Best way to backup Amiga floppies
Fair enough I guess ..I have perhaps assumed too much. I understand why protected disks and IPFs for those disks are not available publicly ..and I guess if cloning CP disks was possible it would be open to abuse. nonetheless from my own perspective I just wish it was easy to back up my genuine flop...

Re: Best way to backup Amiga floppies
Reading the comments ..I get the impression that my KF board is 'capable' of what I wanted ..but so far at least the software does not support cloning of protected disks.
A real shame as this was one of the reasons I purchased it.

Re: Amiga Floppies ..what am I doing wrong ?
Thanks for replying David .. I've posted a request for help in the second thread of the 2 links you provided. I'm guessing I have to use the command line interface and not the GUI if I am to achieve my objective.. But I'm cluless in this regard. If all else fails ..is there a way to obtain IPF files...

Re: Best way to backup Amiga floppies
Hi .. I'm in exactly the situation being discussed here. I have original Amiga games which I fear may be coming to end of life re the floppies ..and would like to get them cloned/preserved by dumping them(copy protected) as raw images ..and written back to new old stock floppy disks .. I have tried ...

Re: Amiga Floppies ..what am I doing wrong ?
Now I'm just confused .. I thought that Kryoflux just dumped raw images of the magnetic flux from the floppy ...thus in was possible to write an exact clone back to a new floppy regardless of the origin and format type ? and in the process preserve the data for posterity ..? In other words ..the who...

Amiga Floppies ..what am I doing wrong ?
After much effort I finally repaired my old Amiga 500 ...and some of my original games played just fine.. I then dug out my workbench 1.3.3 disks and oh oh ..bit rot. I then began a hunt for replacements ..which I now have and they boot fine. This of course put me in panic mode ..and I'm now looking...

Re: Replacement discount?
Got sick of this auto update Boss bollox .. My solution ..was crude but effective .. A dedicated small form factor pc desktop which is never connected to t'interweb .. If I do feel the need I have an raw imaged hard drive with a stable os which I can go back to in an emergency. and I use win7 which ...
