hmm, I think all my California Pacific games are 13 sector ones. AND in that article it is stated that it is in the DOS 3.2 format. Which means it has to be read with -i7, right?

Thanks all, as soon as my kids are busy with something/someone else, I'll hook up my old XP laptop. I jst don't trust the mac usb anymore :(

hmm, I am on OS X... so no 2.72 for me... time to dig out the old XP laptop...

Edit: hmm, last version dropped XP support... that seems to get interesting :)

Also, what is the correct dtc command to convert the raw dump to a dsk image?

So, to recap, you can dump them and almost all tracks will show as unformatted in the log (i have a newtronics flipped drive). And you cannot test the dumps, because the raw dump doesn't convert correctly. Right? A bummer because I have a rare Ultima (1) disk that is a pre release of the original Ca...

Aaaaand the best news: seems my shortened cable actually works fine. The image produced from dumping the stream via either cable is exactly the same :)
That's good news because the case I was using was a bit cramped with the long cable...
