Re: Best way to backup Amiga floppies

I think the process for NDOS disks is like this: 1. backup the floppy using KF 2. send the dumped data (to WHO exactly? To SPS? To which e-Mail or FTP address should the dumps be sent?) 3. receive an IPF (from WHO? and WHEN?) 4. write "your" IPF or an "official" IPF (which one?) back to floppy disk ...

Re: Best way to backup Amiga floppies

Hm. What would be the difference between "writing back" an "official" IPF image versus "kryofluxed" stream files of a copy-protected Amiga 3,5" disk using DTC in the command line? Is it even possible to write an IPF back to disk using DTC?

macOS Mojave and strange behaviour

Kryoflux doesn't seem to work on macOS Mojave ("USB endpoint not found"), but it ran fine on macOS High Sierra. Are there plans for an update to the software for being able to run on OS Version 10.14, too? Also, when Kryoflux software is attached via USB, the mouse pointer starts to stutter or "warp...

Re: kryoflux-ui.jar with macOS 10.13 and JDK 9

Just one question: I need to upgrade my MacBook Pro to Sierra or High Sierra, unfortunately. Might there be an 'official' Mac release of kryoflux that should (in most cases) work with Java 9+ and/or macOS?

Re: Mac Kernel Panic

Could it be issues with hardware USB host? I have a MacBook Pro Late 2013 with OS X 10.11.6 and KryoFlux Host Software for Mac OS X (10.7 through 10.11) (v2.62, 2016-08-28) and java version "1.8.0_111" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_111-b14) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25....

I knew it! :D

So it is ok to add these drives to the compatibility list?

Re: Stream backup quality of 3,5" drives

Just one more question - what are the minimum requirements to add floppy drives to the KF compatibility list ? Do they have to be able to dump and restore certain heavily protected floppy disks in order to be called 'compatible'? Please give me a short info on this so I can add several drives to the...

Re: Best way to backup Amiga floppies

Thank you for this good explanation! So this is THE way to go: Use a DD drive for reading 3,5" DD disks and also for writing them back to 3,5" DD disks. Reading 3,5" DD disks with an HD drive could cause glitches to be detected as flux reversals. Writing back to 3,5" DD disks with an HD drive could ...

Re: Stream backup quality of 3,5" drives

Phew. That was hard photoshop work. There are many thoughts on this, but I'm no expert and maybe there is just nothing which can be derived from these scatterplots, but I'll give it a try: On track 8/0, the Mitsumi D359-T5 (DD!) seems to have the "tightest" scatterplot lines. On track 9/1, the ALPS ...
