Of course the DCT app will "close". When you click a command line app, it opens a command line, the app has nothing to do, shows the splash text and exits, which closes the command prompt.

We'd need logs from your Java installation please. What happens if you look for the Java executable and instruct it to run the .jar manually?

EDIT: So broken Java installation...
